Praise God for bringing us  into  the  new  year  2018.

After  enjoying  the  Christmas  break,   our students came  back  for  the  second  semester. Two new students were added namely: Paolo Calucag from Tuguegarao City and Jay Mar Macasibang from Toran, Aparri.

Not  long  after  the  resumption of classes,  the  members  of  the  Forensic Literary Society (FLS) and Rhetorical  Literary  Society (RLS) merged as one group.  With the supervision of their advisers, Mr. Jhonnyfer U. Rufo for RLS and Miss Harmony S. Gascon for RLS,  they  went  on  with  their   nightly practice for their society night presentation slated  on February 15, 2018.

We  are  grateful  for  the  opportunity  given  to  three  of  our  students:  Elmer A. Acosta,   Mark Anthony Cabanilla  and   Mark Maribbay,  to  conduct  campus  ministry  at    Camalaniugan  National  High  School  Annex  at   Catotoran, Camalaniugan.  They  had  been  tapped   to  handle   Values Education   classes  to  the  students.  Thanks to Mr. Renon C. Daguro, Officer-in- Charge,  for giving   them   the  slots  every Tuesday and Wednesday. Thumbs up for these three young blood good guys used by God in shaping the lives of the students. God smiles at you. Continue the good works. Great is your reward on high.

We  also  praise   God  for  giving  some of our students   the  privilege  of  availing scholarship  from  the  Cagayan  Provincial Government. Many  thanks to  Mrs.  Aurelia  U.  Bosito  who became  instrumental   in coordinating with the provincial   government.  Praise  God   for  working   even  in   unexpected  ways

To other people whom God is using in so many ways, please accept our deepest gratitude.  God bless you.

To our sponsors and supporters, please continue to share your blessings. God bless you  all.

February 2018

February 15 – Joint FLS and RLS Society Night – Joint FLS/RLS Society Night

This is the first time to happen in the history  of  the  Aparri  Bible  Seminary with the theme “WHO AM I?”. The whole studentry participated.

What an amazing display of their various talents. Catching audience attention was the outstanding acting ability  of  Christian Nidoy. Of course with all the support of the other cast characters. We  praise  the  Lord  for  the  leadership  and   wisdom of Jay-ar Apao and Josephus Emmanuel Somera who directed the program. They were able to relate the issue  with the trending lifestyle of the youth today. They are no longer  mindful on the eroded values of life and caring  about the existence of  God. They just spend their life according to the standard of the world. At the end of the story, the question of “WHO AM I” was answered and everybody came to realize that after all they are all children of God.

February 24 – ABS welcomes Sir Mike Burns

Bro. Mike P. Burns from Chicago, Illinois,   a  member  of  the   PMCCNLI  Board  of  Trustees,  arrived  from  the  USA.  His commitment to Aparri Bible Seminary is beyond measure.

Throughout  his  visit,  he  made  himself  available  for  the  promotion  of  the  Seminary  and  the   Selby  Memorial  Hospital.

March 2 – Voice Recital

After  months  of  Voice  lesson  coaching  from  Ma’am  Grace  Alvarez,   the  ABS Freshmen   took   the  stage  to  display   their  musical  talents.  The  night  seemed    like   a  “The  Voice”   episode,  the  all  who  attended  expressed  elation  and  appreciation.

Praise  God  for  the success of the     program.

March 10 – 2nd PMCCNLI General Assembly

The   PMCCNLI   2nd  General  Assembly ,  which  had  been  planned  as early  as December,  pushed through  on  March  10,  2018.

March 16 – 20th Foundation Anniversary

The 20th Foundation   Anniversary  of  the Charles W. Selby Memorial Hospital, Inc. (CWSMHI) held a double celebrations.  In  the  morning,   the  hospital  celebrated  the retirement of Mr. Benjamin Dugay, Sr.   as President of the BOT.  In  his  place  will  be  Mr. Rogelio  F. Tenorio.    In the  evening   the  celebration  of  the  hospital  foundation was held. With Bro. Joey Bosito being their Guest Speaker. Gracing the occasion  was  the  presence  of  Jim  and  Karla  McElroy,  together with    Mr. Bill Warren, the  director  of  FAME  (USA). The first salvo of the  event was a motorcade around the town in the morning participated by the ABS employees and the students followed by the program proper. What a joy to  celebrate together,  which  is  a  picture of an harmonious relationship.

March 22—Commencement Program and 3rd Moving Up Ceremony

The 60th Commencement Program and the “3rd Moving Up” ceremony of the ABS Kindergarten. Fifty (54) pupils, comprising of 21 boys and 33 girls has completed the course for the school year ready for promotion to Grade school.  The theme “Mag-aaral ng K-12: Handa na sa Hamon ng Buhay” for this school year was expounded by Ptr. Rogelio V. Sinoto, ABS Administrator.

March 21-23

Part of the  requirement  in   their  Music class under Ms. Grace L. Alvarez is the Piano Recital which is likened to the “Music Hero.” It  was participated  in  by the seventeen (17) students with their individual pieces.  Although  some  showed  feeling  of  nervousness,  we  believe   it  was   a   good   start.

One  of  our  very  promising  first  year  students –  Jay-ar   S.  Apao,  had  been  offered  by  BOMBO  Radio  Station  Management  for  a  two-year  scholarship  in  Mass  Communication/Broadcasting  in  Manila. It gave  him many  sleepless nights  to make  a   final decision. Finally,  with  lots  of  prayers, he chose to stay and  continue his  studies  in the Seminary. We  praise  the  Lord, and  we  greatly  commend  you,  Jay-ar, for  a  bold  decision  you  made  in  choosing  to  prepare  yourself   to be  a  broadcaster of the Word of God. May  God  continue  to  bless  you!

With warm regards,

NEWS REPORT :: March 2014

Dear Brethren:

It has been a long time since our last update. We had such busy month before the end of the school year.

For our activities in March we had recitals after the Inter-Seminary Fellowship at Philippine Bible Seminary in Vigan in February. The Voice Recital was on February 28. Almost all the old students (35) performed and 39 freshmen did theirs last March 10. Our congratulations to all the voice recitalists. Use your voices for His glory!

The Piano Recital was last March 3. Aside from being a requirement to all first and second year students enrolled in Associate in Church Music had their recital, too. How uplifting to have watched ABS students display their talents in playing the piano. Continue to develop your talents and use them for the glory of the Lord. Thumbs up for Ma’am Grace Alvarez and Ma’am Marlyn Racho again.

Following these activities was our Final Examinations. Students kept busy reviewing and completing requirements in order to take the final exams. Faculty were also tied up correcting papers for final grades.

The Candidates’ Banquet was last March 13, held St. Patrick Garden Hotel. Bro. Perry L. Alan and his wife, Luz, came along from Hawaii visiting us. Bro. Perry graced the occasion with his message, “Be Steadfast In Your Calling.” There were twenty-two candidates honored in the Banquet.

Joining the Banquet were Bro. Michael Burns and Sis. Daisy Cajigal who, along with Sis. Renate Denton, were also visiting the Philippines particularly ABS. It was such a joyful reunion!

The annual Conference on Evangelism was March 17-18 wherein almost one hundred fifty church leaders and preachers attended. The 60th Commencement Exercises of ABS was on the evening of March 17. We were able to harvest 22 in the undergraduate and 6 in the graduate school, making it a total of 28 graduates this year. We were blessed with the presence of Bro. Philip Campbell, together with his son, Wes, and their preacher Michael Clarence, along with Bros. Abel Navarro and Daniel Roca. Bro. Phil dedicated the graduates in a special prayer.

Bro. Perry Alan was again used to speak in the commencement and gave a lecture on the Conference on Evangelism. Bros. Philip Campbell and Michael Clarence spoke in the Conference on Evangelism. One of the highlights of the conference was the ground breaking of the new Girls’ Dormitory. Bro. Philip Campbell offered a special prayer for the ground breaking. It is our prayer that this very urgent project will be finished the soonest for our lady students to have better housing come next school semester (which will commence on June). With the initial fund ($30,000) that we have, we just started laying the foundation with strong faith that the good Lord will bring the other ($105,000) needed for the full completion of the structure. We’re praying that the ongoing construction won’t stop as we’re aiming that it will be finished before August 2014, ready for the next Alumni Homecoming!

Brethren, as we embark on this very important and urgent project we again appeal to all of you to please help us by sharing your material blessings so that this project may be realized for His glory! Rest assured this project will have positive impact on our mission of equipping many dedicated servants of the Lord as our enrolment keeps increasing since we began replacing the old facilities of the institution. Praise the Lord because He provides!

Our twenty-eight graduates must be replaced. We have started promoting and campaigning for new students. We know that the Lord will send students as we have been praying for it. Thank you Lord for sustaining all of us.

In His Service,

NEWS REPORT :: January – March 2013

Dear Brethren:

Christian greetings to everyone!

Despite the busy schedules we have we don’t want to miss the opportunity of letting you know what’s going on with Aparri Bible Seminary.

Back to school after the two-week Christmas break. From the hectic schedules of practices for the Christmas Concert, we needed to go back to our classes. Just after two weeks when we came in January 5 we had our mid-term examinations. Simultaneously, we were busy preparing for the Inter-Seminary Fellowship for February. Members of the Rhetorical Literary Society (RLS) also are preparing for their night. Students are starting to work on their Piano and Voice Recitals.

As we approached the month of February, we needed to have extra time for classes in order to replace the class days we’ll be missing during the three-day Inter-Seminary Fellowship in Baguio.

The RLS students presented their program last February 14. Superb! They have displayed varied talents with splendid presentations. All for the glory of God – Rhetoricians, may those gifts from the Lord be used for Him.

On February 20-23 was the Inter-Seminary Fellowship hosted by Philippine College of Ministry (PCM). This program is an annual activity of the three seminaries – Philippine College of Ministry (Baguio), Philippine Bible Seminary (Vigan), and Aparri Bible Seminary (Aparri).

Students as well as faculty joining were all blessed. Talents are developed and displayed, their camaraderie is deepened and their leadership abilities are strengthened. Hurray to the seminaries! We’re not to compete but to complement with each other. Praise the Lord!

When we came home we were ready for the Piano Recital on February 25. There were thirty-one recitalists. May those students continue to learn in their playing the piano.

This is one of the busiest months of the year because of the closing activities. The Piano Recital was followed by a Voice Recital on March. Because of the many recitalists, we needed to have another recital on Piano and Voice on March 8. How amazing to see a great number of students serving the Lord through their talents in singing and playing the piano!

After the final exams on March 6-7, came the Candidates’ Banquet on March 12. Bro. Joffrey Barba was the speaker on the theme “Set Apart for Service.” Twenty-one students joined the banquet.

Conference on Evangelism was on March 14-15. Bros. William Falla and Samson Lubag were speakers on this conference. There were around two hundred attendees.

Dear Brethren:

We praise the Lord for what He has done to all of us this month. All glory to Him for ABS!

The month of March is a very, very busy month for ABS. Before the closing activities we had Piano Recital for twenty-seven (27) students last March 2. It was such a very enjoyable program because of the varied ability of students to play the piano. Keep on developing the talent for the Lord. “Job well done,” students, as well as their teachers.

NEWS REPORT :: March 2011

Dear Brethren:

Praise the Lord! We’ve gone through the busiest month of our school year 2010-1011. With all the activities we had – Piano and Voice Recitals, Final Examinations, last Campus Day, Candidates’ Banquet, Conference on Evangelism, ABSAA Meeting and the Commencement Exercises. The Lord made it possible for us to go through. All glory and honor for Him!

The Piano Recital was held last March 4. There were twenty four (24) student recitalists. They have displayed their talents and performed their music pieces.

As we were preparing for the Voice Recital on March 11, we were shaken by the news reports about the earthquake and Tsunami in Japan. Much more when local news warned that a Tsunami may hit the Philippines too at about 4:00 p.m. that day, we knelt down in prayer. Few hours later, the Municipal Disaster Coordinating Council advised the residents along and nearby the coast lines to evacuate to farther and higher place. We stopped all our activities and gathered our students and family members and evacuated them, along with some neighbors, to the children’s home facility in Lallo, about 12 kilometers south of Aparri. We stayed there until midnight and praise the Lord for He delivered us by not allowing that disaster to happen. Truly, He is our refuge and strength!

On March 17, we pushed through the Voice Recital and twenty seven (27) recitalists participated in. What a display of great potentials! Use them for the Lord and you’ll be blessed!

Came the final examinations, then the Candidates’ Banquet with Bro. Daniel R. Roca as our speaker on the theme, “Be Strong and Courageous.”

A day passed, the ABSAA meeting was held with Bro. Solomon Valdez presiding. There were around 30 members who attended. Not many of them came. However, among those who came a concern for ABS was expressed. They were able to pledge fifty (50) bags of cement aside from the twenty (20) bags paid immediately. Amen to them! Alumni of ABS thank you very much! May God bless you more. What about those who were not around? Please send your share also for His glory!

The 57th Commencement Exercises was held the next day. Pastor Angelo T. Larugal challenged and inspired everyone especially the fifteen (15) graduates on the theme, “Press On Toward the Goal.” The following are names of our graduates:

May all of them continue to serve God with joyful hearts and with faithful commitment.

Meanwhile, we continue to share you the on-going project of the ABS new building. The third phase which is the center and corner of the L-shaped structure is the biggest and most crucial part. Music Laboratory room and administration office will be placed here.

We’re wishing and praying hard that this on-going phase be finished this summer ready for use by June. It is our goal to finally and completely move to the new building this school year and let the collapsing old wooden buildings be finally demolished.

Basically, we still need Php5 million ($116,280.00) to completely finish this building project. Please continue to pray with us and for us, brethren. Thank you so much for your support and partnership with Aparri Bible Seminary. May God bless you as you continue to share for Him through ABS ministry.

In Him,

Both of them are benefactors of PMCC-ABS who visited the Philippines, particularly the ministry, for about 2 months. The 2010 graduates are:

Around one hundred twenty attended the conference.

One of the highlights of the conference was the meeting of the ABS Alumni. Aside from the fellowship, they also finalized their Constitution and By-Laws. They expressed their support and plan to help their Alma Mater, ABS, having challenged by the extent of work and accomplishments, particularly the ongoing building project, of the seminary.

The Christian Education department also prepared for the Vacation Bible School (VBS) Clinic. We convey our deep gratitude and thanks to Sis. Ruby Bagain Alex, as well as Philippine Bible Semiary, for providing us VBS materials. We praise God for your ministries. God bless!

Everyone of us is excited to see the finished portion (though just a third) of the building project. Those who attended the conference and graduation were so elated to use the finished structure. Please continue to pray for and support the project as we now again prepare to construct the next span of it – hopefully comes May. We need at least Php 3M to complete the basic structure of this phase. We’re able raise an initial fund of Php 500K to start the construction and we trust the Lord to bring the other needs through the generosity and kindness of His loving children.

To all of you, brethren, who keep your support for the Seminary, we THANK YOU AGAIN. We keep you in our prayers.

In His service,

Administrator, ABS
