NEWS REPORT :: September – October 2010

Dear Brethren:

We bring you greetings from all of us here at the Aparri Bible Seminary! We’re glad to share you again what we’re doing now.

After the Deeper Life Week of the seminary we concentrated in our classes. Along with this, we gave time praying for additional fund to what we have so we can continue the building. With the arrival of the ABS administrator from the USA, we have hoped to continue it very soon. Mr. Esmelito Acson went there not onlyto attend the Fil-Am & North American Christian Convention but also to promote and campaign for the new ABS.

On the last week of September, the Forensic Literary Society (FLS) presented their annual Talent Night. It was a simple program yet very good, interspersed with “pakulo”! How nice to have an audience participation!

The Rhetorical Literary Society (RLS) also had theirs on October 8. What a splendid program! Praise the Lord for the two societies! They really help students for leadership. Job well done for everyone! May the Lord be praised!

After the final examinations we had a special fellowship on October 15 – campus cleaning in the morning, had lunch together, open house and games! We also had supper together followed by the program in the evening. Each of the seven (7) Care Groups presented a number. Indeed it was a joy to have listened from some students their surprises, expressions, and encouragement for one another. They have expressed their desire to continue for the second semester.

While students were on semestral vacation, a masteral class was conducted with Mr. Timothy Thomas from Brazil as the professor. He taught about “Restoration Principles”. He not only conducted class here at ABS but also at Sto. Tomas, Candon City, Ilocos Sur, as part of the seminary’s consortial program. There were at least thirteen (13) students who attended both classes. Praise the Lord for Mr. Tim Thomas. Thank you for sharing your time and expertise. God bless you.

As this news report was being written, construction of the next phase of the classroom building has been prepared. On October 27, old structures in the construction site have been demolished, initial materials have been procured, ladies dormitory has been transferred to the Mission House 2, and the office has been moved to the bigger room of the finished part of the building. We’re just waiting for the weather to become better because it’s delaying the construction. With the available seed fund we have, we hope to erect even just the basic structure of it and we pray that God would continue to bring the needed fund to totally finish it.

Meanwhile, the music department headed by Mrs. Grace Alvarez was able to procure a Yamaha upright piano, model U1, for the seminary through the help of benevolent brethren from both local and abroad. Also, we have new sets of things needed for musical instruments. To all our benefactors thank you very much for your continued support for the seminary.

To all supporting churches and individual donors, here and abroad, we continue to thank you and praise the Lord for your love to Him and the Seminary.

God bless you all.

In His service,
